Melanie & Jim | Family shoot

I can't express how amazing this shoot was to create! Melanie contacted me & told me that she wanted a fully styled family shoot with her husband Jim and their adorable daughter, Mahaila. I absolutely love designing photo shoots, especially one with Melanie's theme of Rustic glam! I was inspired by her daughter's black tutu and decided to make Melanie a similar black dress as well as a fun and flirty white skirt. How photogenic is this family!? Such an amazing day and they were all so much fun!

I appreciate Vivien's leap of faith and trusting me so much that we didn't actually meet until her wedding day! She and Chris live in Denver and decided to pick a sunny, destination wedding. We hit it off right away and had so much fun that morning & I love the classic and beautiful look that she chose! Congrats to an amazing couple!

From the moment I met Michele I loved her fun spirit and I just knew her wedding was going to reflect that! As a fashion stylist I also loved and appreciated her idea of using separates for her bridesmaids dresses. They were so stunning and such a beautiful color! Jenna & Steven | Married

I was flattered to be asked by a wedding industry friend to do hair & makeup for her wedding. The talented Jenna from Flutterglass Photography made the most enchanting bride! She brought along some flowers and asked me to create a whimsical look on the day of her wedding. The woven braid with flowers suited Jenna perfectly and was a beautiful compliment to her garden-themed wedding. I love the romantic and ethereal feel that she chose! A beauty on the inside & out!

Spanish Wedding Inspiration

I was contacted by a local wedding planner to come up with several wardrobe/hair/makeup looks for this amazing Spanish-inspired bridal shoot that was held at The Darlington House in La Jolla. Whenever there is a challenge thrown my way I dive right in and love every moment of the creative process. There were 3 different looks that I wanted to capture in this photo shoot. All of the looks had a romantic, and innocent quality. Soft colors, lace, intricate details all felt timeless and elegant. It was such a great experience working with some of the best wedding vendors in San Diego and also having this photo shoot featured on one of my favorite wedding blogs, 100 Layer Cake. Megan & Jason | Married

I didn't meet Megan until 3 days before her wedding! She lives in Chicago and when I met her she was just as wonderful as I knew she would be. We had our Midwest roots in common and hit it off immediately. What impressed me about Megan is that she was laid back and enjoyed every moment of her planning. Thankfully, she put together a Pinterest board of her style and I had a good idea of  the look she was going for on her big day.  She looked stunning in the peach colors and her braided bun that defined her wedding and her personal style. This group of girls were so wonderful to work with and we laughed a lot that morning:) Such a beautiful day and a beautiful couple! Congrats to Jason and Megan and a lifetime of happiness!

Thorne Artistry had the chance to work with Pacific San Diego Magazine for the December issue that hit newsstands last week! We had an exciting day with professional surfer, Anastasia Ashley, who was so much fun to work with! We took a limo bus all over San Diego and hit some surfing hot spots & you could tell she was in her element! It was amazing to see this natural surf girl channel her inner glam! If I could live in a make believe world of fashion and color, this is probably the one I would choose! I love the romance (yep, I'm a total sucker for the romantic vibe), nod to vintage, and all of the color! I absolutely love blending old with new and breathing new life into a vintage look. This photo shoot was captured by some of my favorite people (they are my friends & were my wedding photographers too!), Kim & Adam Bamberg of La Vie Photography based in Seattle. They are the nicest people you will ever meet and incredibly talented to boot! This shoot was for local fashion designer,Veronica Scott, to show off her new collection,VEE, in her latest look book. I was thrilled to be a part of this photo shoot that embodies everything that I love. Thanks to Coffee & Tea collective and Citrine for the hospitality!

Sarisa & Ryan | Married

The stunning wedding of Sarisa & Ryan was like something out of a fairytale! Sarisa had a classically romantic and magical feel from her dress to her venue (San Juan Capistrano). I loved how personal her day felt...her mom and family came from Hawaii to show support and she had one bridesmaid who wore a beautiful floral print dress that was a nod to her Hawaiian roots. This group couldn't have been nicer and more fun to spend the day with! Her mom even knitted me a scarf to say thanks! So lovely & thoughtful! This Mod-inspired fashion shoot was incredible! This photo shoot is a nod to the sophisticated side of the 1960’s. We found an amazing vintage Dior halter top at a thrift store that set the tone perfectly and as always we love working with Sandra Nicole Designs who have the best selection of jewelry and accessories to choose from! It didn’t hurt that our gorgeous model actually looks a lot like 1960’s icon, Twiggy! The stunning photography is by Joielala; Jewelry provided by Sandra Nicole Designs; Hair, Makeup and Wardrobe styling by Thorne Artistry.
